Maximizing Battle Potential

I'm rather new to Darklord Legends, and though I've been around a bit I still haven't involved myself in trading and maximizing of powerful cards other more experienced players have. As such I'm less knowledgable than I'd like to be and I'm starting this thread to ask questions to some questions I myself and I'd wager many others would like an answer to in regards to this topic.

I'd like to start off with skills. There are a lot of skills and which ones you pick seem largely to depend on what you're aiming for with your deck. However, some skills (e.g. Critical, Life and Death, Evasion, Paralyzing Kiss) seem to be much more highly regarded, and cards with exceptional skills (mainly URs such as Pixila and Asmodays) especially desired. One question I'd like to ask is: which skills can or can't a card learn as its second skill? To clarify, it seems there are two main types of skills: buffs and active skills. Buffs occur at the beginning of a fight (such as Life and Death  and Goddess Wings) while active abilities have a chance to occur on that card's turn (such as Critical and Paralyzing Kiss). Considering my Countess Misty learned Critical along with Full Charge, it seems a card can have two active skills, but is this desirable? A card with two active skills will thus have only a chance to activate one on its turn, meaning it's less predictable. Also, is a card able to learn two buffs? If so, do they both activate or do you have a chance for either one? On that note, does a card with high attack and low defense benefit more from Life and Death to magnify its strengths or Focused Defense to compensate for its shortcomings? I expect this, however, may be more on personal preference.

My next question is in regards to maturity; other than levelling up cards with duplicates this seems to be the only way to increase a card's stats outside buff skills mentioned earlier. I've noticed, however, that the maximum maturity of a card ranges anywhere from 1000 to 6000 depending on the rarity of the card. Furthermore, cards of the same rarity can even have different maximum maturity (URs seem to range from 5000 to 6000, with my Empusa having a maximum maturity of 5030). Is there a way to increase a card's maximum maturity, and if so how?

My last question is this: where do we get skill potions outside of trading? I've had some before, but I suspect they were log-in bonuses. The shop does not carry them, and I don't recall ever having gotten any from a chapter's full-clear bonus.

This is it for now, in a pretty long post. I'd write out a tl;dr, but this isn't the sort of post you can sum up in anything other than "a bunch of questions, answers please." I would appreciate any answers some may provide, and I'm sure some of the newer members of the community would too.

Lol.. maybe we can import the guides from the game and have it here.  Should cover all the gameplay elements and the discussion threads will start there.

The thing about it is we have no idea if he's being sarcastic or not (I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's being sincere, as I didn't know about the guides either).

Most games have in-game help, but few of them go in-depth.

One interesting thing the guide says, in regards to my question about skills in the opening post, is that during fusion a skill MAY be passed on to the base card from the enhancer card IF it is possible for the base card to learn the skill. This implies that the answer to my question earlier is that there are in fact some skills that particular cards CANNOT learn. Which may be another explanation (other than plain bad luck) my Aphrodite has failed to learn Paralyzing Kiss/Focused Defense/Evasion even after a good 50+ fusions.

It'd be nice if each card had a list of skills it couldn't learn so we wouldn't waste time/cards/gold trying to fuse them in.

Maybe we can start a list? if you have a card that has two skills maybe you can post the name of the card and the name of the secondary skill it has learned...

I would actually like to start a comments-only thread on each card with the best suggestions for what the card should have as a secondary skill (For instance, the general concensus for Beowulf is to have Evasion as the secondary skill). I want to keep it comments-only as I don't want to fill up the forums with linked discussion threads.

I also wasn't joking =p

Well one thing I have noticed is that putting Life and Death on a card that already has high attack and low defense simply causes them to get knocked out in one hit if Life and Death is high enough level; personally, I would recommend against it. I suppose it could be argued that any card with a powerful active that hits the entire enemy deck or front row (e.g. Beowulf, Asmodays, Pegasus) would benefit most from something like Evasion, since they'd live longer to potentially use their skill more times (assuming they can learn it).

Does anyone know if levelling up buff/debuff skills increases their duration? So far it seems buffs like Goddess Wings and debuffs such as Valkyrie Hip Check last only a few turns, while buffs such as Life and Death and Focused Defense last indefinitely.

Michael, i need to say LnD Asmodays, takes down 5 enemy cards in 2 Hell Sparks :P even if the cards have 8k defense.

It depends on your game style, since my 13k def Aphrodite with Para Kiss (Get it from Tiamat since they share flying property) and lvl 10 Evasion Reaper do pretty well their job in the front row :P

And unlike Shakee, get skill pots from making multiple accounts, the game is allowing it <_<! that's how most ppl do it but it takes time, and they are worth 3-4 stamina pots :P
